What Is the Purpose of Crash Analysis?

Crash analysis checks if the car has been in an accident—sometimes a deal breaker or price negotiator. I look for paint mismatches, uneven panel gaps, replaced parts, and signs of structural repairs. I scan the vehicle history for accident records and inspect suspension alignment. Identifying previous damage helps assess safety, longevity, and resale value.

My Experience

I’ve seen cars that looked perfect at first glance but revealed poorly repaired accident damage under closer inspection—like a bent chassis rail or repainted door panels with hidden filler. One car had a replaced front bumper but the crash sensors were never reset properly. On the flip side, I’ve also verified cars with minor fender benders repaired expertly, letting buyers decide if the price matched the condition. Knowing the history means buyers can negotiate confidently.
